The Anniversary of “Make Your Move” – Two Years Ago

The release of Make Your Move starring Derek Hough as Donny and BoA Kwon as Aya has come and gone, yet we’d like to reminisce a bit on the movie because the month of April is its anniversary. 🙂  It was two years ago, on April 17, 2014, that Make Your Move was released in South Korea, followed by its release on April 18 in the US. How long we had waited!

Many of us had followed the cast and crew of Cobu 3D for 3 years, beginning in April of 2011. We sought pictures, listened to all the interviews, tweeted with the cast, and read everything we could get our hands on.  We suffered through all the delays, eagerly awaiting the official release. And once the film was released, we sighed at the lack of promotion of this intriguing dance film (see here).  It had been some journey, right?

For old time’s sake, let’s walk down Memory Lane. Below are just a few pictures, videos, interviews, etc. Enjoy this nostalgic, sentimental look back!

We absolutely loved this exclusive behind-the-scenes video that was released to us by High Top Releasing! In the video, we gained a little inside-look of how the dance scenes were created for the film and how the diverse music was incorporated into MAKE YOUR MOVE. We got nice interviews too from Duane Adler, Derek Hough, BoA Kwon, Napoleon and Tabitha D’Umo, and Yako Miyamoto!

How about this beautiful, romantic, sexy and exquisite video! (Thanks to xkjcharmed21x at Youtube who created it.) The chemistry between Derek and BoA melted the screen! Sigh…. 🙂 They are still our favorite couple to ship. 🙂

PHOTO GALLERIES

You can’t deny the incredible chemistry that Derek Hough and BoA had together on screen in MAKE YOUR MOVE as we watched their characters ‘Donny’ and ‘Aya’ fall in love!

Check out this photo gallery of scenes from Make Your Move of our favorite moments of Donny & Aya! Don’t you just want to go “Awwwww!”?

Enjoy this brief slideshow below of @MYMtheMovies’s marketing teasers. Such neat phrases that say it all. 🙂

Rich Ting, who plays Oku, is Make Your Move’s tough guy. He’s a good friend to Kaz (played by Will Yun Lee) and also Kaz’s right-hand man. Oku may be close to Kaz, but he is NOT liked by Aya (played by BoA), nor by her boyfriend Donny (played by Derek Hough). You’ll have to see the movie to see how all of this plays out. 🙂

In the meantime, enjoy the photos that Rich has on his Instagram account: RichTingWorld.

The Starring Cast of “Make Your Move 3D”: Another Look

We, at MakeYourMove3D Fans, have been reporting on Make Your Move (formerly Cobu 3D) since June of 2011. In that time, we’ve posted quite a few wallpapers that give glimpses into the movie and the cast. Many of the wallpapers are dedicated to the leading stars, BoA Kwon and Derek Hough, but many also honor the other supporting cast members. If you haven’t seen them, or you’d like to review them, check them out.

You can click here for the Cobu 3D Wallpapers.

Now that the movie has been released in some areas, we are able to create a wallpaper with the starring cast that is much more inclusive than those previously shown. Below is WALLPAPER 99, a new one, that highlights the principal characters in the film, along with some new movie stills. If you haven’t seen the film yet, maybe these will entice you even more.

For a full listing of all the cast members, and for the crew credits, head over to the IMDb site (Internet Media Database). *Special note, the cast on this site are listed in the order of starmeters (which change weekly), not by billing in the movie.

Nostalgia – “Make Your Move” Two Years Ago Today

Two years ago today, at roughly 1:20 in the morning, the cast and crew of the then named movie, Cobu 3D, finished filming. It was bittersweet. Three months of intense filming had come to an end. The long days, and the long nights were over, but so was the daily camaraderie that this crew enjoyed together. It was now time for them to return home, to new projects, and to await the release of this film, now called Make Your Move.

On the last day of filming, Rich Ting (Oku) talked about filming a final car scene.
“Last day filming #Cobu3D. Can’t believe the end is here. Got an exciting car scene 2 shoot tonight. Wish us luck!” (June 24, 2011 8:34:41 AM PDT)

Later that day he tweeted:
“COBU 3D officially wrapped!!! Love the entire cast n crew! Thank u from the bottom of my heart! Gnite!”
(June 25, 2011 1:53:42 AM PDT).

Prior to the final wrap, Leading man, Derek Hough (Donny) had been particularly busy, doing interviews, filming the infamous kissing scene with BoA, and the scenes of him reuniting with his ‘brother’ Nick. Right after the wrap, he signed autographs for fans who had watched the kissing scene of him and BoA.
